Canyon Cave Dwellings

We stopped along the road to Bandelier to look into this beautiful canyon.

We saw many cacti on this trip. We liked this one with the flowers.

Cave Dwellings Ruins

A picture of the cliff dwellings at the Bandelier National Monument. We were behind a group of Italian men who were climbing the ladder to look inside.

The ruins of an ancient native community.

Rock formations. You can see how soft and porous the rocks are.

Cave Dwelling Preservation

The artsy shot with the child.

They were doing some preservation work on the site while we there.

We took the road west out of Bandelier to see what was there. We had a beautiful drive through a huge caldera and up and around mountains. When we left Santa Fe in the morning, we had thought we might like to visit a spa in Jemez Springs, but we forgot to bring bathing suits and it was not clothing optional. So we stopped in the funky little town of Jemez Springs   for lunch.
