From Panama City to Boquete

Keith wanted to stop at a beach he had heard about, Playa Santa Clara. The cabanas there are thatched huts.
Canoes were anchored in the ocean off the shore. We did not see them in use, but they make for a pretty picture.
When we first arrived at the beach, we were greeted y these guys on horses and offered rides.

Great picture of Joe on the beach.

After our walk down the beach, we stopped at the snack bar and had a Squirt.
After our drive to Chitre, we stopped at the Hotel Versailles and booked a couple of rooms. The hotel had a nice poolside area, with ginger plants.
We drove down to Las Tablas, about 40minutes south. It's an old town, not terribly exciting, but I found this beautiful old bell in front of the church.
After leaving Chitre, we made a short stop in La Arena to watch ceramics being made and to buy some.
Small artisans' market in La Arena.
The roofs of the houses in La Arena were really pretty, as you would expect in a village known for its ceramics. This picture doesn't really do them justice, but perhaps you can get the idea.
