One of the things Nara Nara is famous for is its tame deer. We headed off to Nara Park, where there are many deer.

I bought deer cookies for 150 yen and started feeding the deer..
Once they figure out that you have food, they swarm you.
The deer are not confined to Nara Park. You see them all over the place on the side of town where the park is. (They don't go downtown, though.)
