The Imperial Palace, one of Kyoto's most impressive sights. Unfortunately, you can only enter with a tour guide and there were no tours running the day we went due to the New Year's holiday..
Still, the palace grounds were very beautiful and we walked around them. This is a building not too far from the palace entrance.
